چکیده
This study investigated the efficiency of a sequential system involving surface flow and vegetated sub-surface constructed wetland (CW) in treatment Brewery Wastewater. Six experimental CW (2 4 subsurface flow) control (1 2 with 200 mm depth 19.05 diameter granite 100 sharp sand as substrate were used for experiment. The CWs planted locally available macrophytes: water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes), Cattail (Typha latifolia) Vetiver grass (Vetiveria nigritana). microcosms irrigated using wastewater from Effluent (BE), pollution parameters measured was monitored. pH, Electrical Conductivity (EC), Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), Oxygen (DO) Biological Demand (BOD5) BE studied 6.84, 1189 μs/m, 2998 mg/l, 9.4 mg/l 1244 respectively. Average reductions 92.53, 48.30 67.16 % observed TDS, BOD Nitrate after treatment. BOD5 percentage removal higher Subsurface than Surface (30.11 49.04 flow, respectively). showed that macrophytes is efficient

Wastewater Treatment Using Horizontal Subsurface Flow Constructed Wetland
The last few decades witnessed sharp focus on environment pollution and its impact on life in nature. Wetlands can be used for biological treatment of wastewater. Problem statement: Scarcity of water is considered as a global problem and Iran is one the countries which is facing water shortage problem. Pollution of water bodies restrict the availability of water for various uses. Treatment of w...

background: natural methods of wastewater treatment, such as wetlands, are simple, cheap and acceptable for developing countries, especially small and remote cities. the aim of this study was to evaluate the efficiency of typha latifolica in subsurface flow constructed wetland for wastewater treatment. methods: in this experimental research, the efficiency of typha latifolica in subsurface flow...
متن کاملWastewater Treatment with Vertical Flow Constructed Wetland
Water is one of the most important elements involved in the creation and development of healthy life. Haphazard disposal of untreated wastewater from households as well as institutions and industry is causing severe deterioration of water bodies in many urban areas in the developing world. There are several methods to treat the municipal wastewater for intended use. One of the methods of the tr...
متن کاملSimulation of a subsurface vertical flow constructed wetland for CSO treatment.
Constructed wetlands (CWs) have proved to be a highly effective measure to reduce the ecological impact of combined sewer overflows (CSOs) on receiving waters. Due to the stochastic nature of the loading regime and the multitude of environmental influences, assessment of the performance of such plants requires detailed mathematical modelling. A multi-component reactive transport module (CW2D) w...
